Live By Night Premiere After Party

Warner Bros. kicked off 2017 with the premiere of Live By Night on January 9. The film, produced by Ben Affleck, takes place in Florida and tells the story of gangsters during the Prohibition Era.

To fit the era of the film, the THE FIRM, formerly known as Samantha Sackler Productions, team created a speakeasy out of the Hollywood Roosevelt. The iconic hotel features classic existing décor, furniture and lighting fixtures that went perfectly with the design. When guests entered the event, they peeked through navy drape swagged back with a large barrel wall at the end of the hallway. The barrel wall was created from vintage wine barrels on their sides, staggered and stacked on top of each other. The wall was highlighted with amber lights to give off a glowing effect when guests saw upon entering.

Designer8*’s wine barrel cocktail tables were used throughout the entrance hallway which served as functional décor. As a focal piece to the event, an 8-piece Cuban band, Son Cache, performed in the center of the Lobby space on a 16’L x 12’D stage built over the existing Lobby fountain.

The existing brown tufted furniture from inside both the Lobby and Public Restaurant was used for the furniture vignettes. Designer8*’s Dakota Coffee Table and Winston Ottomans were brought in to Public to create more lounge seating for guests and VIPs. Burgundy red florals were used to accent the vignettes with amber votives.

The space was dressed with mini cabaret lamps with scalloped shades, large pillar candles, and amber votives. Vintage barrels and crates with empty glass wine bottles were placed throughout the venue to represent disguised liquor containers from that time period. Amber and red breakup patterns were used to feel of the era and create warmth within the space as well. The music from the band echoed throughout the venue for guests to enjoy all night long.
