Stress Relieving Tips For Planning Your Wedding

Stress Relieving Tips

At THE FIRM, formerly known as Samantha Sackler Productions, we know how stressful event planning can be! Between the guest’s seating chart, vendor coordination and to all the little details, it can be a lot to take on. That’s why we think it is so important to practice stress reducing habits.

Believe us, we know how time consuming planning can be. We hear it all the time, “how are you not stressed out 24/7?” Well that’s because we practice a few little tricks to keep us level headed.

Hydrate.

If you’re looking for a simple way to unwind from your stress-filled day, drink a glass of water. Sound too easy? Researchers have found that all of our organs, including our brains, need water to function properly. If you’re dehydrated, your body isn’t running well – so on the days when you feel like you are running a mile a minute, remember to stop and rehydrate.

Treat yourself.

Wedding planning can easily become the biggest focus of all your time and energy. Believe us, we forget to spoil ourselves. Once in a while, spend some time doing what you love best. This means something different to everyone. For us, we like to treat ourselves with a mani/pedi, a delicious meal from our favorite spot, yoga on the beach or enjoy a glass of wine… or two.

Color.

Right now the biggest fad is the adult coloring books. As we grow older, we put aside our crayons in favor of a more respectable writing utensils like pens and highlighters. However, it turns out coloring can be helpful for adults— specifically for its de-stressing power. Coloring is very therapeutic and when we focus on a particular activity, we focus on it and not on our worries. But it also brings out our imagination and takes us back to our childhood, a period in which we most certainly had a lot less stress.

Exercise.

We know that exercise is that last thing you would want to do when you have a check list of a hundred things. To be honest, what is a better way to de-stress than putting in your ear plugs, jamming to your favorite song and run the worries out. If you are not big into running, there are so many other ways that we kick stress out, such as kickboxing classes or yoga.

So remember, when you are feeling stressed about your big day, practice one of these tricks to bring on the calm. We hope these will help ease you during the planning process and relax you to create a magical day.
